General Services Administration (GSA) selected Global Com to undertake the Presidential Transition Project at its Central Office Building located in Washington, DC. The space was designed for use by the recently elected transition teams and had to be available for occupancy in a matter of weeks. Global Com was selected because of our reputation of expertise and reliability in the communication cabling industry. This project included the procurement, integration, installation, testing and maintenance of a SIEMON Z-MAX Category 6A Cabling solution. As a certified SIEMON Installation contractor, Global Com designed a solution that integrated with the existing building infrastructure. Global Com executed the project on off-hours allowing little to no interruption to GSA employees and ensuring the completion of the project in record time.
Through a positive reputation, glowing recommendations, and a value engineered solution, the Department of Commerce (DOC) selected Global Com to design and implement a building-wide armored fiber infrastructure throughout the Hoover building. Supporting the Office of Cyber Security/OCIO, the project upgraded the entire Classified Consolidated Server Rooms (CCSR) and surrounding areas inside DOC. Materials for the install included armored fiber cables (single and multi-mode), riser conduits, RU Fiber Housings, 12 Port Keyed LC (single and multi-mode), Unicam connectors, fiber, patch cords and lockable wall mount cabinets for added security. During all work, Project Management provided detailed status reports with the inclusion of termination statuses on a weekly basis. Global Com was successful in the timely completion of the Scope of Work as well as the provision of surplus materials to DOC. This fiber supplemental work for DOC was completed in an impressive POP of 8 weeks.
Benjamin Moore hand-picked Global Com to assist with their low-voltage needs. They needed an efficient and dependable solution in a short amount of time. Global Com met their tightly-wound requirements by providing, installing, terminating, testing and labeling multiple Cat6 cable, Cat6 RJ-45 jacks, WAPs, RG-6 and OS2 single-mode fiber optic cable. This enabled the site for CATV connectivity, wireless/hotspot and individually owned device connectivity. Global Com completed the project over a 5 week period, with the implementation of a 20 Year Commscope manufacturer’s warranty for workmanship and materials used to complete the project.
For the Department of Veterans Affairs, Global Com was chosen to navigate a tight schedule in occupied space at a Veteran’s Administration Simulation Center in Dayton, Ohio in order to install (37) Dual Gang Low Voltage Rings and (27) Single Gang Low Voltage Rings at multiple locations. This project has been accounted for in three deployments to the project area and its infrastructure consists of 7 different cable types feeding over 400 locations in 32 rooms. The first deployment encompasses roughing the cabling in and prepping for termination. The second will be utilized for termination, testing and labeling. The third, final deployment will consist of any moves and/or changes required upon reassessment.
Global Com has been selected by Level 3 to design and install a GPON network to support the analog phone service at this Navy facility. The government needed to bring order and scalability to the large number of analog phone deployed on the base. The quality of phone service has been poor due to the dated infrastructure. Global Com will migrate the phone lines onto a existing fiber pathway in order to eradicate the connectivity issues. This solution will eliminate the need for reinstallation of expensive copper cable and will save a significant capital investment by the Government. Built on the Tellabs GPON network, the phone system will be fully scalable and changes easily made via the Panaroma interface.
Global Com is teamed with General Dynamics Information Technology on this Firm Fixed Price implementation of the HP Data Network at Fort Drum, NY. Global Com will support the modernization of Ft. Drum’s Outside Plant, Inside Plant, Data Network, Voice systems and the Army’s Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP). Global Com will complete the system design and configurations in order to achieve DISA ATO/ATC for the new data network and be responsible for the System Design documentation for the data network. Global Com will have network engineers on-site for several months and will supplement the on-site team with remote HP Engineers.
Global Com has been awarded the Telecommunications scope for the nationwide refresh task as a subcontractor to L3 Communications. The work was awarded to L3’s multi-year BPA contract with the United States Forest Service. It will include more than 300 physical locations and over 1,200 networking components. The project will be broken out into three phases. Phase I will conduct surveys of each location and develop an outline of the conditions for each location’s network infrastructure. In Phase II, L3 will manage the networking components to be installed. This Phase will include tracking the asset information, data entry, hardware configuration and shipping. In Phase III Global Com technicians will travel to each site to complete the installation of the networking components.
